| Presenter Details | About Gillian Walker: Gillian trained in the Physiotherapy School of Trinity College Dublin. Over her career she has become an expert in biomechanics and orthotic prescription, having lectured internationally and taught extensively throughout Ireland. In fact, a lot of foot and ankle specialists can say they have received training in some capacity from Gillian. Gillian uses her specialist knowledge to identify problem areas in the foot and further up the body chain to resolve your pain and functional limitations. Her recent interest has been lateral ankle instability and prevention of reoccurrence of ankle sprains. To that end she has introduced the first Myolux Evolution to Ireland and herself and her team are offering a very comprehensive approach to the treatment of ankle sprains. Gillian has recently been awarded a Fellowship by the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists. Led by renowned physiotherapist Gillian Walker and podiatrist Mr. Abid Ali, this CPD course offers a comprehensive, hands-on exploration of clinical biomechanics and orthotic prescription for physiotherapists and allied health professionals. Attendees will progress from the foundational principles of biomechanics through to advanced clinical application, covering the foundations of clinical biomechanics, biomechanical assessment for clinicians, and detailed foot and ankle biomechanics. The course also addresses the principles of orthotic design and prescription, supported by real-world case studies that bring the theory to life. The day concludes with a practical workshop, giving attendees the opportunity to integrate orthotic prescription directly into their rehabilitation and clinical practice.
