The Restore Scar Therapy Practitioner Course is an evidence-informed, blended learning programme designed to develop clinical competence in scar assessment and management.
Scarring can significantly impact pain, movement, sensation, and functional recovery following surgery, trauma, or burns. This course provides a structured clinical framework for assessing and treating scars across all stages of healing, supporting integration of scar management into rehabilitation practice.
The programme combines self-paced online learning, live online teaching, and two days of in-person practical training, with a strong emphasis on hands-on techniques and clinical reasoning.
During the in-person component, participants also take part in supervised clinical sessions to support skill development and integration of techniques in practice. Following the practical training, completion of two guided case studies is required for certification, with ongoing support provided.
Total blended learning time: approximately 32 hours, including:
- Online theory modules
- Live online sessions
- Two days of in-person practical training
- Guided case study work and clinical consolidation
On completion, participants will be able to:
- Assess scar tissue using a structured clinical framework
- Apply evidence-informed manual and movement-based techniques
- Integrate scar management into functional rehabilitation programmes
- Support patients with effective self-management strategies
