What is Psychological Safety?

Psychological safety is the foundation of high-performing teams, enabling trust, open communication, and collaboration. This course brings together leaders and professionals to explore how cultures of empathy, accountability, and learning can replace fear and blame. Participants will develop practical strategies to build trust, encourage constructive dialogue, and create environments where people feel safe to contribute, challenge ideas, learn from mistakes, and perform at their best.

What Does the Training Involve?

This highly interactive training course is designed to develop participants’ understanding of psychological safety through exploration, theory, and practical application. Participants engage in experiential activities, structured reflection, discussion, and real-world scenarios to build the confidence and skills needed to foster psychologically safe environments. The methodology is designed to maximise engagement by drawing on Gardner's multiple intelligences, ensuring that participants with different learning preferences can fully participate while also encouraging creativity, collaboration, and appropriate risk-taking in ideation.

How might Psychological Safety be helpful to me and my service/clients/colleagues?

Psychological safety is a proven approach that helps individuals, teams, and organisations build trust, strengthen communication, and improve collaboration. It can be applied in everyday workplace interactions, team meetings, and client relationships to encourage openness, learning, and constructive feedback. By reducing fear of blame and promoting empathy and respect, psychological safety enables people to share ideas, raise concerns, learn from mistakes, and contribute more effectively to shared goals.
