| Presenter Details | Dr Louise Keating, Ms. Mary Madden, Ms. Elaine Maughan Dr. Louise Keating is a Lecturer at the School of Physiotherapy, RCSI and a practising Clinical Specialist in Musculoskeletal Therapy in private practice for over 20 years. She teaches on both the new MSc in Advanced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and the BSc (Physiotherapy) programmes. She has received research funding from EuroSpine, IRFU Charitable Trust, SFI & ISCP for a range of projects across musculoskeletal & sports physiotherapy. Her PhD focused on the conservative management of recent onset cervical radiculopathy. Ms. Elaine Maughan and Ms Mary Madden are the current education officers for the Chartered Physiotherapists in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy (CPMT). Both Mary (Beaumont Hospital) and Elaine (MMUH) are practising Clinical Specialists in Musculoskeletal Triage. Mary and Elaine have worked in both the UK and Ireland and between them have a wealth of experience in the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. Mary holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching and was previously a Senior Lecturer on the MSc. Advanced Physiotherapy, University of Hertfordshire. Both Elaine and Mary have completed a Masters in Advanced Physiotherapy and completed the Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP) membership examinations. |

The aim of this course is to support continued professional development of early career physiotherapists in the evidence-informed management of people with neck pain (including spine-related upper limb pain); bridging the knowledge & skills gap between undergraduate and postgraduate qualification.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this course, participants should be able to -
1. Integrate theoretical knowledge, clinical reasoning and contemporary evidence to inform management of a person with neck pain, within a biopsychosocial framework.
2. Contrast the clinical presentation and differential diagnosis of musculoskeletal and non-musculoskeletal conditions presenting as neck pain.
3. Demonstrate safe and effective musculoskeletal assessment skills, within a diagnostic triage framework.
4. Demonstrate safe and effective multimodal treatment skills to optimise patient outcomes, including education, exercise & manual therapy.
